Interesting idea. It raises the general issue of working with "shared space" services.

I have used SharePoint and it is poor in comparison with other web based alternatives. For example, I work on projects that use Central Desktop.

It would be hard for X1 to pick winners from the flood of services out there. But given their web origins, and their use of RSS, maybe it would work.

Is there a new version of the SharePoint plug-in available?

Hi,

Here's an updated Sharepoint plugin for those to test with access to a SharePoint server.

Please see this new post for download link: viewtopic.php?f=36&t=3824#p14518

The ZIP file contains two files, an X1i file (i.e. the plugin) and a PDF installation file. Please follow the instructions in the PDF file for getting the plugin installed and connected to your SharePoint Server.

Please note that this trial plugin will expire on May, 3, 2009.

We would appreciate your comments, suggestions, feedback and notice of any bugs that you find. Thanks!

I did have a Sharepoint project at one time. Maybe still do.

If you have one that could help in testing, let us in on the secret.

More important, any chance of supporting rival systems that Microsoft and others are creating? Google Docs. Microsoft Live. Central Desktop.

Not a good idea if they are one offs, but maybe they have a standard API that you can plug into.

http://www.x1.com/cs/X1_Sharepoint_plug ... enotes.pdf

Please note that this trial plugin will expire on September 10, 2009. This is not a beta version of the plugin, but simply allows users to "kick the tires", so to speak. If you install the trial and like what you see, or if you have questions, please send an email to sales@x1.com.

We would appreciate your comments, suggestions, feedback and notice of any bugs that you find. Thanks!

updated SharePoint plugin working

I happened to go to use the X1 SharePoint plug in that I'd been using since April 2009. It had ceased to work. I installed this new plugin, over the top of the prior plugin. Installation worked fine. The SharePoint server path was kept.

Working well.

A question -- what is the meaning of this being a trial? It's beta? When it is no longer beta, will there be a charge?

Richard,

This is not a beta version of the plugin, but is a fully-functional trial version which allows users to "kick the tires", so to speak. If you install the trial and like what you see, or if you have questions, please send an email to sales@x1.com.
