will x1 allow for indexing of files encrypted with EFS?

We have been evaluating x1 and are considering x1 enterprise. HOWEVER, many of our users have laptops and large portions of those laptops are encrypted with EFS. Windows Desktop search indexes these files, but is not nearly as fast as x1. Will future releases include this functionality?

Thanks,

Rick

Hi Rick,

Yes, X1 should work just fine. Our VP of Engineering also uses an EFS system and X1 does index it.

When using a disk based encryption system X1 can index the contents because the decryption happens upon logon. If, however, the encryption system required a manual step to unlock the file X1 would not be able to index the content.
