Executable and DLL viewers

Instead of or in addition to the executable header information, it would be very useful to have the version numbers and comment and author info, i.e. the metadata, to be displayed.

Extending Viewers

Postby dejannenov » Wed Dec 14, 2005 5:05 pm

I have some very good news for everyone who would like to improve the X1 viewer’s capabilities. In the upcoming v5.5 we are adding a Client Extension Framework API and SDK, which allows custom viewers to be registered and used instead of the standard X1 provided ones. In other words you will be able to generate the preview pane from your own DLL and register it with the X1 application.

Well then hopefully someone will write a DLL for this, I certainly won't/can't.

Dejan,

About the Client SDK, is it freely downloadable or does one have to pay for it? It seems it would be free as it would extend the power of X1 and allow the public to extend your X1 application. Much like the Firefox extensions progrm.

Thanks for the links. I wish they would provide some pricing. I sent them some email inquiring...

I just want to write a connector or two.
