Feature req: Support for regular expressions

Postby garberfc » Wed Apr 05, 2006 7:25 am

The search capabilities would be greatly enhanced if regular expression support was added.

I understand lots of people don't know about them so the feature would probably need to be enabled via preferences...

Thanks,

Frank

I've only used Yahoo DS which is X1 in drag and X1 itself.

As I think about it, it would be difficult to implement regular expressions as this indexer is just indexing words and not sentences or documents.

Oh well, it would be vastly more powerful if it did... 8)

Windows Desktop Search (WDS) has wildcards (use "*" for any character). I't not Regular Expression, but covers a lot of bases.
