Add .CFM files to X1's list of standard files indexed

Postby christopher.rath@tpi.net » Wed May 10, 2006 8:58 am

If I manually add .CFM files to the list of file types X1 indexes, everything works as it should; however, X1 does not index .CFM files by default. Why not make this one of X1's standard file types?

Why? What about all the other extensions?

You have to stop somewhere.

.wpd and .max, for example, mean a lot more to me than .cfm, which is what by the way?

No, I have nothing to do with X1, just a user since 2004.

The CFM files on my disk are web pages that I have saved (File->Save As, from IE). Before replying to your post I did a bit of Googling and determined that .CFM files are Cold Fusion files, and only get delivered from the web server as .CFM files when the server is mis-configured.

Therefore, I'll take my suggestion off the table and will rename any .CFM files on my drive to .HTML.

Thanks for the quick response.

Can't you just try to File>>Save_As
and save it as a *.MHT file format?

XDS should index a MHT file properly...
