pdf dependent wrote:How do you isolate something like 1-1/2" as those things are operators
Hi pdf dependent,
Here are a couple of things to note regarding X1's indexing ability:
- X1 does not index punctuation, but instead treats all punctuation as a space.
- X1 uses what's called open-ended searching. It's basically like having a wildcard at the end of your searches.
- X1 does not support wildcard searching.
Therefore, in your example, X1 would index 1-1/2" as 1 1/2
While there is no exact way to search for this, to return the best results, you would include this as a phrase search. Enter the following into the primary search box (including the quotation marks): "1 1/2"
You may want to review the X1 search rules. They are located here,
http://www.x1.com/cs/rules.html and may give you a better understanding of how to form searches to return the best results.
Additionally, you may want to view a tutorial which describes how X1 works and includes many great examples of searching. To access the tutorial, visit the support page of the website
http://www.x1.com/support/ and click on the link to the "X1 Tutorial".
