Seems to work with Vista 64bit

Postby jgolden@scottgroup.com » Thu Apr 16, 2009 7:57 am

Just thought I would post for those looking that this version appears to work with Vista 64bit, without having to install the SDK. :D

This is just a report after initial install, index of Outlook and 2 quick searches.

I used X1 a TON before my new machine (64bit Vista), then I was very depressed for a long time as I was forced to use Vista Desktop search (SUCKS!). Now I am glad I can go back to the best search tool on the planet!

The 64bit statement made me try it, but I'm also told my key is not valid. Out of frustration I tried to install an ancient X1 Version (3.0 build 626- "breaking the found barrier") on Vista x64. Works like a charm an boy is it 'snappy'. I guess it doesn't index docx files right etc, but man is it nice to have it that fast. I suggest that you guys at X1 install that version locally and marvel at its speed. That's the user experience I'm hoping will return at some point. -pgk
