Moving saved mail : date changes...

Postby mrwul » Thu Jan 06, 2011 12:07 am

Discovered that once I move saved mail to (e.g.) a subfolder, X1 changes the date of those mails.
Yesterday I moved a dozen of saved mails dated somewhere in 2006-2007 : they are now at the top of the list
being dated jan.5, 2011.

I donot see a chance to at least assign some date in 2006, i.e. to get rid of them in the top of the list.

Think X1 shd keep the outlook saved date.

I don't see this.

I have just experimented with a couple of messages. It retained Outlook dates.

Which "Date" are you using?

I see options for Date/Time, Date Created, Date Last Indexed and Date Modified.

Date/Time seems to use the date in Outlook.

Anyone else see this?

No, I have nothing to do with X1, just a user since 2004.

I am using the normal Date/Time (no Date/TIme modified, or created, when selecting these, the columns remain empty).

Well, with me the dates were definitely changed, I cud see it in the preview.

So, (in my case) some 2 dozen of older messages were toplisted and below these mails, the normal mails are listed.
Remember, they are saved mails, without sender and/or receiver.

Were just message to be kept in storage so to say.

Oh... I just remember!

There is something I forgot to say (think it is important): they are stored in a separate "Archive-pst" file !
Sorry - I forgot to mention that.

So they were saved messages in some archive SUBfolder. After moving them to another archive Subfolder, the date changes.

This all within the same pst-file... (wanted to re-arrange things, instead of having thousands of mails in 1 folder, moved them
to subfolders)
