Do TXT files get low priority?

Postby jmkeuning » Wed Nov 05, 2008 8:35 am

I am indexing a network share with a few hundred thousand TIF files and a few hundred thousand TXT files.

What is dd is that the index is kicking along but I get no TXT files in my search results. I have messed with the file type settings to know avail.

Is there an explanation?

Hard to know without more information. I assume that it has been running for some time, and that you haven't excluded these files in some way.

First guess is that you are looking at a search view that excludes txt files.

Go to the "Favorite Search" "All". You should see a "Document Type" column.

Does it show anything?

Type "txt" into that column.

What do you see on the status line? Does it throw up a number of hits? Any show "file indexed".

No, I have nothing to do with X1, just a user since 2004.

I have not excluded the TXT files. I just checked - there is a green check next to the file type in the options.

The search has been running for a couple of hours. It has found about 60,000 files - TIFs and XLS files are fine. But no TXT files.

I have cleared my filters, looked in the document type column, nothing. When I put TXT in the column, I get 0 Docs Found.
