X1 stops working

Postby choco » Fri Dec 12, 2008 8:35 pm

Frequently, when I try to use X1 to search, it will not open. It is the latest update, but since I cannot open it, I cannot get the information.

I just rebooted yesterday, because X1 stopped. Now it won't open again. Task Manager shows x1Systrray, X1Service, X1.exe files running, but they do not open.

Running XP Pro SP2 with 3GB RAM. When it does run, it does show about 800k files. Have I reached the limit? My system has many jpg, pdf, Canon RAW files.

Please help.

For some reason when I check the notify me box, I never receive any notices.

Are there any suggestions? Today is the third time it has not worked since I posted.

What version are you using?

I have noticed that 6.2.2 seems to be a lot better at not freezing/crashing than older versions.

If you are using 6.2.2, are having problems and are a paying customer, you should probably log a fault with X1. There's a tool you can download that'll collect information that might help with X1 troubleshooting the issue for you.

Sorry, no "quick fix" answer!

Thanks Tim, I do have the previous version. I will download the new one and see what happens.

FWIW, I never received notice of the reply. I checked my profile, and it has a correct address.
