searching for strings that include '_'

Postby dfriedland » Tue Mar 22, 2011 11:44 am

This should be a pretty easy question, but I can't seem to find the answer anywhere...
I want to search my email for messages that contain the word starting with "COMM_". Just typing that string (including the double quotes) does not quite work -- it ignores the '_'. I thought using double quotes around a string would force X1 to treat any "special" characters such as '_' literally...

"_" counts as punctuation.

X1 ignores it. Sees it as a space.

Look up punctuation in the Help file.

I usually finds that I can find stuff based on what is on either side of the punctuation.

It might be a good idea to go down the regex route one day. But that always baffles the heck out of me.

No, I have nothing to do with X1, just a user since 2004.
