Tried this?

How to remove (nearly) all traces of X1 for clean reinstall

It might help.

But which version are you on?

No, I have nothing to do with X1, just a user since 2004.

Update: I also opened a ticket/asked for help via the "X1 Trial Support" page and got the following response within an hour. It worked like a charm...I am back in business! Way to go X1 with the quick and correct response!!!

to me, customerservice
Hello John,

This issue stems from having removed a higher version of X1 (like our 7Beta) or the same exact version - and electing to save settings.

We have identified a bug in our installer around this.

In the meantime the fix is relatively easy.

The uninstall issue is relatively easy to fix. Go to start and enter REGEDIT and enter.

Navigate to HKey_Local_Machine
/Software
/Wow6432Node

Are there any X1 related entries under this location? If so delete those and reboot.

Reinstall your commercial X1 product and things should be good to go.

Sincerely,

Chris Wheaton
