Any suggestions on changing my index options to restart indexing?

I have a 256 GB hard drive reporting 9 GB left.

I am not having much luck starting up scanners after deleting files.
I have now freed up 15 GB of 235 GB but I still receive the warning 'All connectors and scanners stopped.'

I simply want to delete the old index and restart fresh. But I can't seem to find an article that addresses this.
Can someone send me a link that addresses the required steps.

I have deleted index for all Outlook e-mail.
I have deleted index for all files.
I have deleted 4 PST files from 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 (which I have backups)
I have deleted these files from Recycle Bin.
I have shutdown and started.
I have 30 GB free...
But I still get a warning message that "All connectors stopped: Low disk space" on the lower right Status Bar for X1.

Please advise.

I ended up doing a complete uninstall and reinstall of X1.
