8.4.1 Connection with X1 Service has been lost...

Fairly recent problem (2 weeks ?)
Issue MAY have coincided with a recent Office 365 update but I would not guarantee that. In retrospect the timing seems to overlap but unclear if this is coincidental or not.
Configuration:
X1 ver 8.4.1(5003pj)
Office 2016/365 on Windows 10 ( same issue occurs on Windows 8.1; updated OS this week)
When X1 launches, it will pause for a moment and then throw the "Connection with X1 service has been lost.... " error. Restarting does not resolve the issue
Have uninstalled and reinstalled X1, and have run the PSTSCAN tool on all Outlook PST files, but to no avail.
I have done some forum diving but most of the reports of this issue were to have been resolved with Ver 8.4.1, but that does not seem to be the case
Have log files if anyone can decode them
