Index of files is repeatedly lost

I am suing X1 Search 8.4.1 with Windows 10 Pro, 64 bit.

My problem: From time to time the index of All Files restarts again from 0 files. This seems to happen every day, or every few days.
X1 Search runs through the entire indexing process again (and reaches when done about 250,000 files).
Unfortunately, often when I want to use X1 Search again, the number of files indexed is down to 0 or a very low number, and the processes of indexing files has restarted. Until it is done I can't really find the files I am looking for as they haven't been re-indexed at that time.

I do not have this problem with Outlook (Emails, Attachments, Calendar, Contacts, Tasks)
