Business Fax field not populationg/x1 dead?

Postby jbee » Thu Nov 24, 2016 8:36 am

Although an outlook contact has a business fax entry, its not showing in X1.

Am I missing something?

Is X1 dead...the forums seem not to be very active.

No idea about the business fax entry. But I do question where X1 is going.

The first Beta was published in May 2016 and seven months later still has not been released. Such waterfall development is so old school. Each Beta has been stable enough to be a release (for me and what I have scanned in the forums). I use another product gSyncit which does regular small updates. No need to push out every defect every couple of weeks but each beta could have been a minor release (allowing for easy rollbacks and re-installing where issues occur).

Also, I have never been asked by X1 "what would be good for me". Again, this feels to me, old school product development where internal persons decide new product features without asking customers. When they get it wrong (only a matter of time), then expensive IT is built that no one wants. I know this as I do IT estimates in a large bank and it always has both product managers defining the strategy and customer experience persons defining the "fit" for customers.

With these issues, no wonder X1 seems dead and the forums not so active.

I suspect that attention has focussed firmly on the corporate market. Those of us using the consumer end, standalone software are just following in the slipstream.
X1 Search 8.6.1 - Build 6003fa (64-bit)
Windows 10 Pro 64-bit | Windows 10 Home 32-bit
No, I have nothing to do with X1, just a user since 2004.
