Unable to open email from search results in Outlook 2013

When I search for emails, I am not able to double-click on one of the resulting emails and have it open up in Outlook. It just freezes for about 30-60 seconds and then I get control back, but the email never opens up. I can see it in the preview pane, but I cannot launch it in Outlook.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
john

Is it just one message, or all email?

All emails...even calendar items and notes, etc. I cannot Open, Reply, Reply All, Forwards, or Delete... (those are all the ones I tried on the upper right). It also doesn't work if I double-click on the email. It does this in "Outlook" and in "Everything". I am able to launch FILES in the "files" section by either double-clicking or by pressing "Open" on the button on the upper right corner.

Check the general discussion on issues with Office 2013/365.

I haven't gone down that road yet.

Was there ever a resolution to outlook '13? I am having this same exact issue and so far even tech support is unable to assist... I've become incredible unproductive with X1 down or at least in a diminished capacity...

ALL HELP is appreciated...

I have scanpst.exe and uninstalled, swiped, installed, ran the registry cleaner tool, etc.... to no avail.. I've also checked the MS version keys are correctly pointing to outlook '13.

That's a really old message. I haven't seen reports of that one in quite some time.

Which version of X1 is this?

I have 8.4.1 build5003pj (64bbit)

I've actually been running it fine since it's release and now on a new laptop since April with no (zero) issues. Then about a month ago it just stopped working.

Last night I was able to catch outlook pop up in the system tray with a red alarm icon and a mouse over gives me the "Another program is using Outlook. To Disconnect programs and exit outlook, click on the outlook icon and then click exit now.".

Then, if I do nothing, it auto closes.

I've sent the X1 logs to support, but after a few volleys of emails the responses have slowed.

Again, any help would be greatly appreciated.

ANYONE? I've paid for support, but received very little response...

I've now completely uninstalled my entire MS office suite and all other applications and ran a "cleaner" and still NOTHING...

I can open any file, but no emails in outlook. I can preview them, but cannot launch them.

The systray shows the outlook icon with a red error and say another program is currently trying to access outlook....

PLEASE HELP...

Office 365 Pro 2013 products and 32bit. Lenovo X1 Carbon 4th Gen, I7 16gb ram, etc... no special things running...

Thanks...Steve
