Viewer not working since upgrade

Dear X1,

Please note my previous post about V8 not installing properly. It might have a bearing on this bug...

For all but emails and media files, the view pane displays the message "Oracle Corporation - OutsideX control". That's it. No view of of the file selected.

How can I fix this?

The viewers used in X1, and other software, are the basis of the (now Oracle owned) Quick View Plus. They also masquerade as the Stellent (Stellant when X1 makes a typo) viewers.

Usually here:

C:\Program Files (x86)\X1 Beta\Stellent\Filters

A broken installation might well mess that up.

I wonder if the "OutsideX control" is a subset of that.

Hi Kenward,

Thanks for noticing my post. I noticed the viewer dlls in the program directory and went scratching in the registry. Seems the reference to the viewer files is right. There actually isn't that much pertaining to X1 in the registry. I might go looking for 'stellant' now that you told me they do typos sometimes :)

So, it looks like all is in order, but obviously something is missing - I might just have to revert to reinstalling an old X1 and start again without the trial of V8 - which obviously I haven't got going anyway, so I don't know what I'm missing.

One upside of not having the viewers working is that X1 doesn't hang and crash on me half as much. That's a real plus!!

Some of us run X1 6.7 alongside X1 8.

My viewer works when examining a File directly. But not when examining a file which is an Outlook attachment.
