indexing filling up users hard drives

Postby rmehay » Wed Aug 20, 2014 8:19 am

Currently running X1 search 8.2.1 Client on VDI's.
I know that there is now a VDI version but this was purchased before that.

I have 10 users currently running this with and the email.wordpos-0.dat, files-wordpos-0.dat, and files-wordpos01.dat files filling up the users hard drives.
The users are indexing about 10 years of emails.

The diagnostic tool I was given doesn't produce a .zip file to send to support and an index deletion .exe I found on a older post doesn't do anything. I know these files shouldn't be taking up this much space so now I need to know how to get them down to a reasonable size or if its possible to put these files somewhere else with the client version.

  • Menu
  • Options
  • Indexing
  • Storage Location

Move the index to somewhere roomier.

No, I have nothing to do with X1, just a user since 2004.
