Evernote support

Even though Evernote has its own search, it would be superior to use the X1 integrated support.
I would think that the very large Evernote user base would put this feature quite high on your list of enhancements.

Good idea. But where will X1 get a viewer from?

It buys viewers in from a division of Oracle.

Same issue for OneNote.

Evernote provides a robust SDK for searching and manipulating user content. For example, their API NoteStore.findNotes allows search for notes within a user's account, including full text of notes or search by specific metdata (such as notebook, note title, tag, date or location).

What does this have to do with providing a viewer that X1 can use?

I would like to add me name to the list of those hoping for the inclusion of Evernote search capability.

Thanks for waking up that one.

Since the first request to support Evernote, I have seen more and more applications with Evernote integrated into them. I see that is there even there in Outlook 2016, despite Microsoft having OneNote as a rival.

Does anyone know if there are viewers out there for Evernote? That is the clincher. There isn't much point in finding things of you can't read them.

Hi all,

Thanks so much for the suggestions regarding Evernote and please keep the feedback coming. We will take Evernote into consideration as we finalize our 2016 roadmap.

Best,

Mike

It is absolutely CRUCIAL that X1 becomes able to search Evernote. That is half the point of X1 - having a single place to search.

Evernote claimed 100 million users in 2014
http://www.zdnet.com/article/evernote-from-nought-to-100-million-users-in-six-years/

Likewise ONENote hit 100million users in may 2014

I use both extensively

I also consider that Evernote support is fundamental for me.

Off-topc:
I am -not- an Evernote user, I have not even -tried- it.
Have read how fantastic this tool is said to be, but honestly I am not sure what extra's it would bring over the usual copy-paste and save in the clipboard manager.
Right now, most of the times, the source of content that I save is Internet : content of pages.
Either pasted in Word / Excel or PDF and saved on my HDD or in a clipboard manager, when it comes to plain text .
Nothing is being saved 'online', in the clipboard manager it is 1 pool of clips, no sorting / organizing, when I need something I can do a search.
Obviously PDF/Docx etc are organized in folders.
All very 'conventional' I admit.

I believe, for Evernote, when a user does not want the content to be online, then they should purchase a monthly subscription.
(Plus, or even better Premium).
That said - most power seems to come when the notebook is stored in the cloud.
However, will that then not be subject to hacking?
Also how to keep all your clips confidential?
