Repeated re-install failures

Postby Steve102 » Wed Nov 19, 2008 7:17 am

Hello. I am a long time registered user of X1.

Running the program on Windows XP became erratic. Launching the program would, instead of opening the normal file screen, would launch an X1 installation routine.

I tried to reinstall as follows. First, remove program from control panel. That dumped out so I removed the program folders and data folders manually.

I downloaded and tried to install the program (version 3630). I ran it, and received the message "We notice you have a different edition of X1 on your computer. Please uninstall and run installer.

Went back to remove the program from the control panel, and when trying to remove received error message " Installation terminated because we notice you have a different edition of X1 installed on your computer. Please uninstall and run installer."

So, I am in a loop. Any tips are appreciated!

Hi Steve,

You should be able to get out of this "loop" by running through the manual uninstall/reinstall steps found in this X1 Knowledge Base item:

Let us know if these steps prove successful or not.

That worked. It installed, I entered my registration code, and it is indexing now.

Thanks for your help.
