File Format Request: MHT

Postby drem » Sat Mar 12, 2005 8:05 pm

I apologize if there are other requests for this format...

For IE users, MHT is a very common way of saving web sites to a single file.

X1 will index MHT files now (if you add MHT to the list of extensions) but it would be great to render them in the preview pane as HTML files. Hopefully, enough others will chime in on this one...

This has been asked for before, but it can do no harm asking again :) I am sure many users (including myself) would love to see .MHT support. Hopefully it'll turn up soon.

Yes this would be brilliant - most of the web-archive tools out there store their archives (or have the option to) in MHT format - it would be very very nice to be able to index and search them from X1.

MHT files are partially supported in the current version of X1 (5.1). X1 will not show the file rendered in the preview window. Instead, X1 will show the code. X1 will only index the code in the MHT file.

The next major X1 update (with Stellent Outside In 8.0) will support MHT files. The preview window can show the rendered content and X1 will index the rendered content.

The newly released v5.2 Beta now supports MHT preview!

It's still not perfect, but it's a big step forward ;)

Thanks to X1 for listening & pushing the maker of the Preview engine...
