How to Add Capabilit to search Lotus Word Pro Files

Postby Simon Lewis » Sun Jan 14, 2007 4:39 pm

Yahoo Desktop Search add-on pack enabled me to search Word Pro (*.doc) files.

Is that possible with X1?

Without it, the program is of very little help.

Many TIA if someone has the answer,
Simon

X1 does not list support Word Pro (*.doc) files unfortunately.
Since XEC is also free download, you can download the latest version and give it a try! (Note: you need to uninstall YDS first though).

FYI, here is the official list of file formats supported by XEC:

For formats not supported by X1, the only option I have seen is to look for an "iFilter".

A good place to start learning about this technology is here:

X1 claims to support iFilters, but we have never managed to smoke out any official comment on how well it works, or how to integrate it seamlessly into X1.

No, I have nothing to do with X1, just a user since 2004.
