Having an IBM/Lenovo Thinkpad, I've just discovered an interesting way to make a dedicated "hotkey" hardware button to activate the X1 Window.
ie: I can use below program to customise what program is launched by pressing the "Thinkpad" blue button. Pressing "Thinkpad" activates X1, and I can immediately begin typing in my search:
www.schlackman.org/programs/thinkpad.html
ThinkPad Button Customiser - Freeware
Version: 1.0.2; Last updated: 16/04/03
Finally, a hardware hotkey button solution to call up X1, rather than to press the CTRL+ALT+L that does the same.
(For other brands of notebook computers, I'm sure you can find a similar way to do this. Feel free to share your experiences on this forum).
Note: The above program is not endorsed by X1 or its moderators. This author is not associated with the developer of above program in any way.
