Re: Undocumented Command Line Search
Did you know that there's a command line search in XEC?
You can just type into the Main Search Box, or the X1 Deskbar Search Box:
command:blah
where "command" is the command you wish (see below), and "blah" is the text you wish to search for.
1. Commands for searching [Files_Tab]:
name:
type:
size:
path:
content:
date:
2. Commands for searching emails, eg [Email_Tab]:
content:
date:
from:
to:
cc:
subject:
client:
attachments:
foldername:
3. You can do boolean nested searches.
For example, if you're "pgk", you want to find any emails to/from "dawes", you would type in:
(from:pgk to:dawes) OR (from:dawes to:pgk)
4. Please note that all commands listed above in (1) and (2) can use only the first 2 letters as a shorthand command.
For example, below two commands are the same:
content:blah
co:blah
5. ***Please feel free to contribute anymore related tips on this thread, and I'll update this posting to reflect your undocumented command line search tip!
